Plant Identification Photos: When you use the plant identification feature, images are transmitted to a third-party AI service (Kindwise). Please avoid capturing identifiable personal information (faces, home addresses, etc.) in plant photos. See Section 7 for more details on third-party plant services.

7.1 Trefle.io — Plant Database
Little Leaf uses the Trefle.io API to provide plant species information, taxonomy data, and botanical details. When you search for a plant or view species information:
- Search queries (plant names, keywords) are transmitted to Trefle.io servers
- No personally identifiable information is sent as part of these requests
- Trefle.io's own privacy policy governs data processed on their servers

7.2 Kindwise — Plant & Pest Identification
Little Leaf uses the Kindwise API to power AI-based plant and pest identification from photos. When you use the identification feature:
- The photo you capture or upload is transmitted to Kindwise servers for analysis
- Kindwise processes the image and returns identification results to Little Leaf
- Images may be temporarily retained by Kindwise in accordance with their own data policy
- We strongly advise that photos submitted for identification do not contain faces, personal documents, or other sensitive personal information
Image Privacy: Photos sent for plant identification are processed by Kindwise, a third-party AI service. Little Leaf does not control how Kindwise stores or uses these images beyond what is governed by our service agreement. Review Kindwise's privacy policy at
